This new house on a previously undeveloped property in Cotuit, MA had big shoes to fill in terms of the clients’ sustainability goals. We balanced these goals with a clean and bright aesthetic throughout. The result is a home in which the High Performance features and functions coexist discretely alongside comfortable, inviting spaces. These features include electricity provided by PV panels, geothermal heating and cooling, and wood fiber insulation. An extremely well-sealed envelope resulted in a blower door result of .30 ACH50, exceeding PHIUS Passive House standards. The house achieved a HERS score of -15.
